Youth & Family Programs

For conference and training days, for winter and spring breaks, for celebrating birthdays and holidays, count on the J to provide a fun-filled day.  These programs take a summer vacation from Memorial Day to Labor Day, but the fall program schedule is available now.  Registration will begin at the end of August.

The Washington DCJCC’s No School Today program offers an active day of art, play, sports and surprises. We offer a full-day program to accommodate your work schedule and help your kids celebrate their days off. Activities include swimming, art, mini-field trips and activities the kids themselves choose.

J Kids Swim Team

Grades K-3

• 6 Tuesdays, October 28–December 9, no class November 25
  $135; Discounted Member Rate $100

• 6 Wednesdays, October 29–December 10, no class November 26
  $135; Discounted Member Rate $100

• 12 Thursdays, September 11–December 11, no class November 9 or 27
  $275; Discounted Member Rate $204

Class time:  4:15-5:15 pm; swimmers should be picked up by 5:30 pm

Children will refine their swim skills, learn new strokes, build their endurance and enjoy team spirit on our J Kids Swim Team. This class is taught by our experienced Water Safety Instructors. Swimmers will have a small snack before the class, and all "swim team" members get a free T-shirt!

We offer free pick-up from area schools.  We will select the schools based on enrollment; the first school on a particular class day that registers three (3) children will get priority for that day.  Please contact Alison Samson, Assistant Director for Youth & Family Programs

Kids and parents love to party at the J!  We make it easy to make your child’s birthday party special. You provide the cake and the party guests, and we’ll provide the rest:

An art, Motion Commotion, science or swim party, plus

• goody bags
• paper goods
• decorations
• fitness center passes for parents
• an energetic Washington DCJCC staff member to facilitate your child’s celebration.
